whether i’ve just finished a 5k afternoon seawall run and want something healthy to eat, or whether i’m hungover on a saturday morning and want a hearty breakfast, tap and barrel caters to both those needs perfectly. the patio is incredible and complete with comfy couches, sweet sunshine, and an amazing view.
the tap greens (hazelnuts, dried blueberries, crumbled goat cheese, red wine maple vinaigrette) with albacore tuna is simply satisfying if you’re craving something healthy. the local wild mushroom pizza (smoked mozzarella, arugula, truffle oil) is AMAZING no matter what – it’s hands-down my favourite item on the menu. the poutine is pretty decent, the yam fries are good, and so are the mussels. the smoked salmon benny wasn’t bad either, and i can add it to my list. everything i’ve eaten here has been pretty tasty and satisfying. view the complete menu here.
as for drinks, the mojito and sangria goes quite well with their patio. all the beer and wine they serve is on tap and is stored in huge barrels inside (hence the name of the place… clever).
good food, decent drinks, amazing patio… and that truffle-oil mushroom pizza that’s so delicious that it deserves a second mention.
