bellagio cafe (773 hornby street) is a nice place for lunch/brunch breaks (they serve breakfast here until 2 pm) since it’s pretty close to everyone’s work places. i love having breakfast for lunch… breakfast food is good at any time of the day (in my opinion). my personal favourites: the neptune benny (salmon eggs benedict with a side of hash browns), the bellagio breakfast (two eggs any style, your choice of ham, sausage, or bacon, toast, and hash browns) and the carbonara.
the service is pretty good for the most part (kristina is the best – vip treatment every time amal and i go there and get her as our waitress). when the sun is out over the winter, if you sit right inside right next to the glass windows, it feels like you are on a warm patio and suddenly it’s summer. the outdoor patio is perfect for those almost summer days when it’s not too hot outside yet – it does get a tad too hot when it’s REALLY hot outside because of those big, black leather seats that absorb all the heat and sunshine. the patio is also great for people watching, since it’s right on the sidewalk. once, “bob marley” came by and sang “three little birds” while we were having lunch… sun was shining, our food was delicious, and this is what i heard: “don’t worry… about a thing… because every little thing… is gonna be alright…”
